Chih-Hung Chang, PhD, is a psychometrician, health services researcher, and data scientist whose work centers on enhancing clinical outcomes assessment and management through the integration of technology and methodological innovation. His expertise lies in patient-centered outcomes measurement, particularly the application of item response theory and computerized adaptive testing across diverse clinical populations and settings. Dr. Chang founded Clinical Infometrics, a framework that unites measurement science, data analytics, evidence-based medicine, and health informatics to support real-time clinical decision-making and improve symptom and disease management. As Director of the Psychometrics x Informatics Laboratory (the pi Lab) at Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Chang advances precision medicine by integrating measurement theory, data science, and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop and implement actionable tools for clinical practice.
