Kicking off the semester: excitement and unity at WashU Medicine Graduate Programs Orientation

Thursday, Aug. 21, the Eric P. Newman Education Center was abuzz with excitement as WashU Medicine hosted its Graduate Programs Orientation. The event marked the beginning of a new semester and welcomed 105 incoming students across 18 graduate programs at WashU Medicine, which include PhD, Master of Science, and Graduate Certificate programs.

The orientation provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect with peers from different disciplines, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. The day’s agenda included a networking lunch and insightful presentations from key leaders at WashU Medicine, who shared their vision for the future of medical education and research.

A special welcome was extended to the 20 new students joining the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics, promising fresh perspectives and energy to the institute’s mission of advancing data-driven healthcare innovation.
