Randi E. Foraker, PhD, MA, director of the Center for Population Health Informatics, was senior author on a recent study also co-authored by I2DB’s Daphne Lew, PhD, MPH, and Joshua Landman among other collaborators, that explored gun injury trends in St. Louis. The study found young Black men to be particularly at risk, showing that along with physical and emotional effects, survivors of firearm injury carry a “distressingly high” risk of being shot again.
